Optimum General Inc. is a Canadian company that underwrites, mainly in Canada, property and casualty insurance through three subsidiaries and seven regional offices :

• Optimum West Insurance Company, which has offices in Vancouver and Edmonton, underwrites residential insurance for individuals and property and liability insurance for businesses in British Columbia, Alberta and the Yukon. This subsidiary also underwrites automobile insurance for individuals and businesses in Alberta and the Yukon.
• Optimum Insurance Company Inc., which has offices in Montreal, Quebec City, North Bay, Toronto and Winnipeg, underwrites residential insurance in Quebec, Ontario and Manitoba and automobile insurance in Quebec and Ontario for individuals. It also underwrites for businesses property and liability insurance in Quebec, Ontario, Manitoba, Saskatchewan, the Northwest Territories and Nunavut and automobile insurance in Quebec and Ontario.
• Optimum Farm Insurance Inc. underwrites automobile and farm property and liability insurance for farm owners throughout Quebec from its office in Trois-Rivières

Each of our regional offices is managed by a Regional Vice President and constitutes a distinct business unit. While services such as actuarial, accounting and information technology are centralized at the head office of Optimum General Inc. in Montreal, each regional office focuses on underwriting, claims management, premium processing and relations with brokers. In total, we employ nearly 200 people in Canada.

Thanks to our distribution network of more than 500 independent brokers and over 1,000 points of sale, we are able to increase our current activities and explore new opportunities while following our ultimate objective of offering unparalleled service to all our brokers and insureds.
